Goals

Goals are definitions in the Velocipede database that you can use as a tool to find out if you are training enough to reach what you are aiming for. One goal might be that you want to ride a given distance within a given time period.

Goals are, like reports, organized in a tree structure for better overview. Goals can be defined for all sport types, except for user-defined sports.

Dialog box #1

A goal is identified by a name and do always require the user to specify a time periode (from and to date). Depending on which type of goal, you must also specify a minimum distance, a minimum training time or a minimum gained altitude.

Dialog box #2

Some of the goal types, like the one shown in the example below, have a list of bikes that this goal use. Velocipede will only handle training entries where one of the selected bikes was used. Other goal types use trails or training types.

Dialog box #3

You can also define a select group that will be used when analysing the goal. A select group is a definition that includes one or more training entries.

A description field is usefull for adding notes about the goal.

Dialog box #4

To find out if you have reached a goal or not, the goal has to be analysed. This is done through a report templates.

For weekly training time or weekly distance, the goal can also be analysed week for week through the calendar view. A marker will indicate if the goal was reached or not.
